Environment // More Cogs!


Playing around with some more cogs. Now I know how to get them working, I'm starting to work on more intricate designs to fit our world. Lots of fun!

Environment // Cog test in Maya


I followed an online tutorial which Charlie found to make a cog quickly and easily. Our animation will have lots of different styles and sizes of cogs which I'm quite looking forward to making. I've made these as a quick test to see how they look.

I've added a few things to model and here is what it is currently looking like, It has surface shaders as a temporary texture for the moment.

Male Character // Orthographic 2.0


We are still having a bit of an issue as to how the arms should be shaped to work best with both the animation and the design, which resulted in the making of the following options. (We should normally be able to use influence objects to bend the limbs in some of the gaps area.)

Today we got together and discussed the design for the characters, this resulted in quite a few changes that I've started to sketch out, he still needs some work.

I created some variations of the hair and the key for the character. I like 70, 75 and 76 out of these thumbnails.



Environment // Concepts #2

Just as a reminder, we are planning on having the tint of the short change as the story progresses. At the beginning, the overall colour could be as follow: a cold blue ― a dull, military, toxic green or even just black and white values.
